The Rideau Hall FOundation (RHF)

RHF is a Canadian nonprofit that funds grants in the arts and sciences. As the Western world becomes increasingly anti-science, they came to us for cheap campaign ideas or stunts that could help get the public excited about investing in progress again. Below, are the four ideas I came up with and pitched to the client, as well as some copy I wrote for for another team member’s idea.

(All copy in images is my own.)

A World Without Science:

What does the world look like without science? A lot like it does now.

Steaming Hot Takes:

Where do deep conversations happen? Coffee shops.
Let’s partner with independent cafes to create cups printed with fact-based hot takes inspired by our researchers.

In Real Time Podcast:

Scientific abstracts are tough reading. What if we made them more accessible by partnering a leading scientific researcher with a famous comedian, struggling to learn quantum theory in real time?

PROGRESS IN PROGRESS:

You know those temporary walls that surround construction sites? The ones that are decorated with CAD drawings of whatever strip mall’s in the process of being built? What if we made those for the world around us to show everything that’s currently being progressed? Because, thank to science, it is.

(Fun fact: Because our art director was overbooked the day before our pitch, I actually mocked-up one of these myself. See if you can guess which.)

Though the Wheaties idea isn’t mine, I did want to feature it here because it’s not everyday your words ends up on the back of a Wheaties box. Plus, it’s just a great idea.
